My name is Lisa and I am a student at the Judge Rotenberg Center. Before coming here, I was in different placements which were very hard because I was so bad. At the age of 13, I went to The Judge Rotenberg Center. When I started living at this program I was very harmful to myself and others around me. I didn’t care and didn’t want to listen to what people told me to do. I was never in the classroom and I didn’t ever do academics or schoolwork because I just didn’t care. I was on a lot of medication for behavioral problems. When I came off my medication and went on level III interventions. I became a better person. I was able to earn an in-school job and go to classes at Blue Hills. I was able to do things that I always wanted to do that I couldn’t do when I first came to JRC. I am now faded off level III treatment 24 hours a day, seven days a week. I now have a job in the community and in-school independence. I thank the Judge Rotenberg Center for all of their help and support. I don’t think that I could have done it with out all of the staff, great case managers and clinicians that this program has. This program was helped me to be the person that I wanted to be. I just wanted to say thank you for all of your help. - Lisa |
