Dear Mr. ****** and everyone,

My son had a very good home visit. I had promised to send some comments.

He was much calmer and less anxious than when he entered the school in January.

  • He spoke appropriately and lucidly
  • Voice tone was less anxious than before and more conversational
  • Did not use many inappropriate words or comments
  • Took all his luggage and clothes upstairs to his room when he arrived
  • Put his clothes in to wash and dry
  • Made up his own bed
  • Kept a list of his expenses from his outings in the city
  • His activities are still limited to the movie theatre, electronic stores, and restaurants in the areas where he has always gone. He does not venture beyond these places. That's not a bad thing, just a comment.

Overall, he was a delight and I could see the improvement. He has a very funny sense of humor, seems to have made some friends and told me at least three times that JRC has a good educational program.

His continued fears:

  • He wants to succeed but he's still afraid deep down inside because he has failed in other situations.
  • However, he is happy to be in Old Maple and really wants to do well so he can stay there.
  • He said that sometimes his fears and panic overwhelm him but he is trying very hard. I can see that.

My son will continue to benefit from positive reinforcement that the program provides.

Mr. ******,

On a personal note:

My son spoke so highly of you and is so respectful of you and wished that you could still be his case manager. I also wish that you could continue in that capacity since the two of you had a good rapport. I want to personally thank you for all your efforts to maintain contact with me and keep me informed while you worked with my son in the early stages of his transition. You were always extremely professional and caring. This is much appreciated.

Thank you
